We sell high quality, fresh produce as well as a fine selection of groceries and food products. Located in Terrey hills, we are more than just your average fruit shop.  Fortunately, we are nothing like a chain store either. We are a whole new type of food store. Let us take a minute to explain exactly what makes us so special....

we are a family run business

We are 100% family owned and run. And proud of it! Since opening Forestway Fresh in 2003, the Polistina Family (Domenic and sons, Pasquale and Tony) have been working hard to bring you the ultimate food shopping experience.

we are local, we are independent, we are knowledgeable

No one tells us what to buy or where to buy from. We are on the floor, listening to our customers and responding to their needs. Pasquale and Tony are third generation fresh produce operators. Domenic has been in the industry for over 40 years. So, we know our stuff.

we are hands on

We personally work in the store, seven days a week to ensure everything is perfect. Domenic and Tony go to the markets every single day and come back to sort, stack and rotate produce. Pasquale orders and maintains grocery lines as well as handling the business end of things. So we are in there getting our hands dirty with the best of them!

we are all about the quality

We never compromise on quality. We strive to deliver the best quality produce at the best price. We have specialty items not readily available elsewhere.  And we won't stock grocery lines, unless they meet our strict criteria. All we care about is delivering the best. Best produce, best products and best price. All with a high standard of customer service and convenience.

We don't want to be like anyone else. We want to do our own thing, even if that means we are going against the tide. We want to make our customers happy. We handle every piece of fresh produce with care. We take pride in our work and in our store. We taste our grocery lines. We just want everyone to eat and enjoy really good food!

    We are honoured to have, for the second year running, won the Fresh Food category for the Australian Small Business Champion Awards for 2020. We are extremely grateful to our customers and hardworking team.

  • Outstanding Fruit and Vegetable Store and Finalist Outstanding Cafe in Northern Beaches Local Business Awards 2020

    Forestway Fresh is thrilled to be recognised as the most outstanding Fruit and Vegetable shop in the Northern Beaches for the 4th year running! The Tasting Deck Cafe also were finalists in their category. We thank our staff for all their hard work and our customers for their continuing support.

    Forestway Fresh was excited to be recognised as an outstanding business in both the fruit and vegetable and cafe categories in the Northern Beaches area in 2018. All the hard work from our staff and the great efforts of the Tasting Deck have been recognised.

  • OUTSTANDING FRUIT AND VEGETABLE STORE IN NORTHERN BEACHES LOCAL BUSINESS AWARDS 2017

    The Local Business Awards aim to recognise small businesses in local areas. In 2017 Forestway Fresh was announced the winner of most 'Outstanding Fruit and Vegetable Store' within the Northern Beaches. This award motivated us at the end of our store renovation to hopefully go for the win for both the Tasting Deck and Forestway Fresh in 2018.

  • Outstanding Fruit and Vegetable Store in Northern Beaches Local Business Awards 2013

    The Local Business Awards seek to recognise excellence in small businesses within local areas. Public votes saw Forestway Fresh nominated as a finalist and a panel of judges determined Forestway Fresh the winner of most 'Outstanding Fruit and Vegetable Store' in the Northern Beaches at an awards ceremony in July 2013. Forestway Fresh was privileged to be recognised as an outstanding business in the local community and grateful for the support of its customers.

  • The 2UE and 7News Best of Sydney Award 2011

    In November 2011, Forestway Fresh was voted 'Best Greengrocer' in 2UE and 7News' Best of Sydney Competition. The competition invited the public to vote on the best of what Sydney had to offer across 15 different categories. Forestway Fresh was thrilled to win the Best Greengrocer title and honoured to receive such recognition from its customers.

  • The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Shopping Guide Award 2011

    Forestway Fresh was excited to be named 'Best Food Store' by The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Shopping Guide 2011. Edited by Helen Greenwood and John Newton from The Sydney Morning Herald, The Good Food Shopping Guide lists the best purveyors of food and drink in Sydney.

  • The Mushroom Retailer of the Year Award 2009

    On 7 March 2009, Australian Mushroom Grower's General Manager, Greg Seymour, awarded Forestway Fresh, 'Mushroom Retailer of the Year'. The winner was chosen by a professional, independent mystery shopper program which assessed stores on their mushroom quality, range, display and point of sale presentation. Forestway Fresh was pleased to be congratulated for their commitment to excellence in mushroom retailing.

  • The Sydney Morning Herald Young Achievers Award 2008

    Helen Greenwood and John Newton, foodie writers and critics for The Sydney Morning Herald Good Living Magazine, awarded Pasquale and Tony Polistina the 'Joe Antico Young Achievers Award' with the release of their book, Foodies Guide to Sydney 2008. Joe Antico was a legend in the fruit and vegetable industry and his passion and commitment to excellence was an inspiration to both Pasquale and Tony. Pasquale and Tony were honoured to receive this award.

  • The Sydney Markets Distinction in Retailing Award 2007

    Every year, Sydney Markets acknowledges and rewards greengrocers for excellence in fresh produce retailing through their awards program. Winners are selected by a panel of mystery shoppers who assess stores on a range of criteria. Forestway Fresh was privileged to win the Sydney Markets Distinction in Retailing award in 2007.

  • The Batlow Apples Retail Award 2006

    In 2006 Forestway Fresh received the Batlow Apples Retail Award for  'Best Store Display and Range of Batlow Apples'. The award was presented by Damian Hendricks from Golden Fruit Supply in Sydney Markets. Mr Hendricks is an agent for Batlow Apples and an exclusive supplier of premium quality fruit to Forestway Fresh. Forestway Fresh was proud to have their immaculate display efforts recognised by Australia's leading apple supplier.
